Centereach is a suburban community with a little over 30,000 residents. It is a working class area that is located directly in the center of Long Island. Hence, the name, Centereach. It's total area is 8.7 square miles.
Compared to the rest of New York, Centereach has more of a small town feel to it. The average household income for a family is $92,178. The average household size is 3.27 and the average family size is 3.49. The racial makeup is 80.89% White, Hispanic or Latino of any race were 14.08%, 4.98% African-American, 0.18% Native American, 2.17% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 1.36% from other races, and 1.42% from two or more races.
Tiki Action Park is a popular gaming and entertainment center in Centereach. It is an especially great place to host children's birthday parties. The town also has several pubs and restaurants, as well as a public library.
Every September, Centereach hosts a street fair. This street fair consists of street vendors, demonstrations, music, raffles, food drives and kids activities. It is said to be fun for the whole family. Admission for this fair is free.
Centereach is also a great point for exploring the rest of Long Island. Long Island offers a large array of attractions, both indoor and outdoor. You can choose to spend the day at the beach. You could explore one of the many parks Long Island has to offer, such as Eisenhower Park. Or, you could visit their famous amusement park, Adventureland.
